Today I ticked a true bucket-list moment off my list with a visit to Stonehenge. The day itself felt quintessentially English—cool, crisp, with that gentle mist of rain that somehow makes everything more atmospheric rather than less. It only added to the magic of standing among something so ancient and quietly powerful. I booked through Headout, and honestly, it couldn’t have been easier. No unnecessary fluff or drawn-out commentary—just a straightforward coach trip that got us there comfortably and gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want… just take me there and let me experience it. A simple, seamless day—and one I won’t forget anytime soon.

Loved it! The staff was super kind and they also gave us snacks for the trip. Just be careful about the pickup destination that varies in the morning and in the afternoon!🥰

It's an ambitious tour because you visit three places in one day. That gives you the opportunity to see a lot in a short time, but the visits are very short and you're left wanting more. We also spend quite a bit of time on the bus, so you have to be mentally prepared for that. The destinations are wonderful, it's worth it!

# An unforgettable day trip with Chrissy & “Stan the Man”! We joined the full-day Windsor Castle, Stonehenge & Roman Bath tour from London, and it was absolutely fantastic! The meeting point is inside Victoria Coach Station — not outside on the corner as shown on the picture you receive beforehand — so make sure to go inside the building to check in. Our wonderful tour guide was Chrissy, and our driver was the legendary “Stan the Man.” From start to finish, Chrissy made the whole experience truly special. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and has a wonderful storytelling voice. Throughout the journey, she shared tons of fun side facts, interesting history, and added just the right touch of humor that kept everyone engaged and entertained. The tour was very well organized — all entrance fees were included, which made everything super convenient. We visited Windsor Castle first, then Stonehenge, and finally the Roman Baths. Do keep in mind that at each stop, you don’t have a huge amount of time to explore every detail in depth — but that’s completely understandable, as it’s a full-day tour covering several major highlights. We found the time at each location to be just right for getting a great overview. A small tip: bring some snacks or lunch with you, since there isn’t much time for proper meal stops. You’re allowed to eat and drink on the bus (just no hot drinks or warm/strong-smelling food). All in all, it was a wonderful and memorable experience. A huge thank you to Chrissy and Stan the Man for making the day so enjoyable! We would absolutely book another tour with Evan Evans again anytime.

Everything was scheduled perfectly in the right order and so we had plenty of time and opportunities to go to the restroom and to have a snack or a drink. This was an amzing experience, thank you! Visitor tips

  • Coach-side views: The best countryside views, including glimpses of thatched villages and sheep-dotted fields, are more visible from the left side of the coach on the way to Stonehenge.
  • Start the audio guide early: Play the audio guide during the drive to get background before you arrive. It’s more enjoyable when you already know what to look for.
  • Check headphone compatibility: The audio guide device often requires a wired headphone jack. Wireless earbuds may not work, and rentals are limited on-site.
  • Visit Neolithic huts: The recreated huts near the visitor centre are often overlooked but give rare insight into how people lived 4,500 years ago.
  • Bring small snacks: There’s limited time to queue for food, so bring a small snack or sandwich if you tend to get hungry. Eating is allowed in designated areas.
  • Prepare for wind: Stonehenge is on open plains with minimal shelter. A lightweight windbreaker and sunglasses are both handy, even if the weather looks fine in London.
  • Watch your footing: The grass around the stones can be muddy even on dry days. Stone paths aren’t always perfectly level or dry.
  • Afternoon light for photos: If you're keen on photography, know that afternoon light is usually better for side-lit shots of the stones, reducing glare.
  • Keep your departure time in mind: There’s no loud announcement before the coach leaves. Set a phone alarm or ask the driver for the return boarding time as a backup.
