Today I ticked a true bucket-list moment off my list with a visit to Stonehenge. The day itself felt quintessentially English—cool, crisp, with that gentle mist of rain that somehow makes everything more atmospheric rather than less. It only added to the magic of standing among something so ancient and quietly powerful. I booked through Headout, and honestly, it couldn’t have been easier. No unnecessary fluff or drawn-out commentary—just a straightforward coach trip that got us there comfortably and gave us the freedom to explore at our own pace. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want… just take me there and let me experience it. A simple, seamless day—and one I won’t forget anytime soon.

From when we got out of the car until we left, the whole experience at Stonehenge was amazing. The visitor center is very nice and the people there were very helpful and nice. It was really amazing to visit a site from our ancient world.

It's an ambitious tour because you visit three places in one day. That gives you the opportunity to see a lot in a short time, but the visits are very short and you're left wanting more. We also spend quite a bit of time on the bus, so you have to be mentally prepared for that. The destinations are wonderful, it's worth it!

# An unforgettable day trip with Chrissy & “Stan the Man”! We joined the full-day Windsor Castle, Stonehenge & Roman Bath tour from London, and it was absolutely fantastic! The meeting point is inside Victoria Coach Station — not outside on the corner as shown on the picture you receive beforehand — so make sure to go inside the building to check in. Our wonderful tour guide was Chrissy, and our driver was the legendary “Stan the Man.” From start to finish, Chrissy made the whole experience truly special. She’s incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and has a wonderful storytelling voice. Throughout the journey, she shared tons of fun side facts, interesting history, and added just the right touch of humor that kept everyone engaged and entertained. The tour was very well organized — all entrance fees were included, which made everything super convenient. We visited Windsor Castle first, then Stonehenge, and finally the Roman Baths. Do keep in mind that at each stop, you don’t have a huge amount of time to explore every detail in depth — but that’s completely understandable, as it’s a full-day tour covering several major highlights. We found the time at each location to be just right for getting a great overview. A small tip: bring some snacks or lunch with you, since there isn’t much time for proper meal stops. You’re allowed to eat and drink on the bus (just no hot drinks or warm/strong-smelling food). All in all, it was a wonderful and memorable experience. A huge thank you to Chrissy and Stan the Man for making the day so enjoyable! We would absolutely book another tour with Evan Evans again anytime.

I loved our tour guid she was absolutly amazing and brilliant. We got to learn so much of the history about these places with a lot of laughter in between. Everything was scheduled perfectly in the right order and so we had plenty of time and opportunities to go to the restroom and to have a snack or a drink. This was an amzing experience, thank you! Today
The sights were beautiful and the meet up as extremely accessible. The schedule was just right since I had the right amount of time to explore around and catch the trains. Also, Manon was so friendly and knowledgable and she made the tour. Best part, as always, was having inner access to Stonehenge, and it makes the experience worth it

Tips for using the Stonehenge audio guide

  • Download before arrival: Download the audio guide content while connected to Wi Fi before reaching Stonehenge, as mobile signals across Salisbury Plain can be unreliable.
  • Bring wired headphones: Wind across the open landscape can affect audio clarity. Wired headphones usually provide steadier playback than speakers or loose wireless earbuds during windy conditions.
  • Start at the visitor centre: Begin listening inside the visitor centre exhibits first, as the audio guide introduces key discoveries and artefacts that provide helpful context before seeing the stones.
  • Follow marked route: The audio guide is structured around specific stops along the main path. Following these points ensures you hear explanations in the intended historical sequence.
  • Allow extra listening time: Plan at least ninety minutes for the full audio route so you can listen comfortably, pause at viewpoints, and explore nearby landscape features mentioned.
  • Charge your phone: The audio guide relies on your smartphone throughout the visit, so ensure your device is fully charged or carry a power bank.
  • Adjust playback speed: Most audio guide apps allow playback speed adjustments. Slowing slightly helps follow complex historical explanations while walking around the monument.
  • Check language settings: Select your preferred language before starting the tour so the guide runs smoothly without needing to restart or navigate app settings midway.
